Cathrine Abuamsha is an Advisory Group member of the Democracy Matters Initiative at the Middle East Democracy Center. She is a licensed Palestinian lawyer and holds an LL.M. in International Law and Human Rights from Syracuse University College of Law. In 2017, she was awarded the Open Society Foundation’s Palestinian Rule of Law Award. Cathrine previously served as a legal and international advocacy officer at the BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights. She also worked as the local advocacy manager at 7amleh – the Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media. Before joining 7amleh, she was an advocacy lawyer at Al-Haq. In addition to her professional work, Cathrine volunteers as an advisory council member for World Vision.
