Kristen McTighe

Kristen McTighe is senior communications manager at MEDC. Previously, she was senior communications manager at the Freedom Initiative, working on cases of wrongful detention in the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade working as a journalist across North Africa and the Middle East, writing for a number of media outlets including the New York Times, Financial Times, USA TODAY, NBC News, the Globe and Mail and others.

She holds an M.A. in Global Communications from the American University of Paris and a B.A. in History and Spanish from the University of Washington and is fluent in French and Spanish.
