Haydn Welch was an advocacy officer at MEDC from January 2024 to July 2025. Prior to joining MEDC, Welch was the advocacy officer at the Freedom Initiative, where she advocated on behalf of the unjustly detained in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. She previously worked as a research associate and program coordinator for the Women and Foreign Policy program at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Welch received an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a BA in Middle East Studies from Swarthmore College.
